The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis has chosen Architecturestudio to carry out urban planning and pre-operational studies for its territory.

The project covers more than 330,000 hectares of exceptional territory, rich in diversity, between a dynamic economic fabric and a high-quality living environment, with more than 50% of its territory classified as natural areas, now particularly vulnerable to climate change.

The aim of our “Balancing the territory’s resources” initiative is to give concrete expression to our environmental ambitions, in line with our Blue Route approach, by re-reading the territory in terms of both development opportunities and biodiversity reserves.

The aim will be to implement an integrated design and ongoing assessment approach, at every stage of the project: urban, landscape and programming diagnosis, scenarios, development plan.

The urban project management team, led by Architecturestudio, Agence Paysages, Cabinet Merlin, TRAFALGARE, Planèd and SEGAT, will draw on its experience of the area to develop a virtuous development framework shared by all those involved in the transformation of inhabited environments, for a sustainable and resilient metropolis in the Mediterranean basin.
