[News] A New Chapter for Architecturestudio
On the occasion of our Annual General Meeting, we are pleased to announce that our practice has officially become a Mission-Driven Company. This milestone firmly anchors our purpose and reaffirms our commitment to placing architecture at the service of social, environmental, and territorial transitions.
This recognition follows the first audit conducted by our Mission Committee. We extend our sincere thanks to its external members for their high standards, insight, and commitment alongside us:
– Pierre Henri Guignard, diplomat, Secretary General of COP21, and President of comuni.can.do
– Grégory Quenet, environmental historian and Professor at UVSQ–Paris-Saclay University
– Marc-Antoine Durand, architect and researcher, Associate Professor at TPCAU, ENSA Clermont-Ferrand
This Annual General Meeting also marks a new chapter in the governance of the practice.
Marie-Caroline Piot, Partner Architect, has been appointed President of Architecturestudio and will be joined by two Managing Directors, Roueïda Ayache and Gaspard Joly, both Partner Architects. She succeeds Marc Lehmann, who has held the position since 2020. During his tenure, the practice successfully completed its ownership transition, launched the Blue Trace initiative (including a book and travelling exhibition), adopted Mission-Driven Company status, and opened two new offices in Geneva and Abidjan.
These developments reflect a shared ambition: to foster a form of governance that mirrors our architecture—collective, open, responsible, and resolutely focused on the challenges of our time. They reaffirm our purpose: to collectively imagine the long-term sustainability of inhabited environments by paying renewed attention to territories and designing architecture that actively supports ecological, social, and cultural transitions.
