[Prize] Architecturestudio receives the Special Jury Prize of the National Hemp Construction Awards

We are honored to receive the Special Jury Prize of the National Hemp Construction Awards as part of the International Wood Construction Forum.

Architecturestudio is above all a collective adventure that began over fifty years ago. We are constantly renewed through our societal commitments: placing the collective interest at the heart of every project, designing responsible, sustainable, and innovative architecture, and contributing positively to the transformation of our fragile planet.

The awarded project is a concrete expression of this approach: two houses inserted within the brick walls of an existing structure, supported by an independent and manually transportable framework. A precise and restrained architecture, where each element—wood, steel, hemp concrete—operates according to its own logic: compression, bending, tension, insulation.

The interlocking mezzanines create a rich spatial interplay, the façades alternate between lime-sand render and bamboo cladding, and the interior is finished with hemp-lime plaster. A natural ventilation system takes advantage of the thermal differential created by the building’s height.

These houses are conceived as living organisms, capable of adapting to the evolving needs of the family, offering warm and intimate spaces at every stage of life.

Two houses inserted into an existing structure, revealing the potential of an architecture rooted in continuity and lineage.

This award is not only recognition: it commits us to deepening our approach—demanding, responsible, and collaborative.
