[Project] Architecturestudio takes part in the public meeting on the Voluceau Project
The announced departure of Inria, scheduled between 2028 and 2030, opens up an unprecedented opportunity for transformation in the city of Chesnay-Rocquencourt. To support this turning point, the municipality is initiating the creation of a Concerted Development Zone (ZAC), the first step in a large-scale urban development project.
Fifty years ago, Parly 2 introduced a new way of living by combining comfort, nature, and local services within a modern setting. This model, still highly appreciated today, has shaped the identity of the area. Following in this tradition, the future neighborhood to be developed on the Inria site aims to meet current lifestyles while anticipating tomorrow’s challenges, by combining urban innovation and quality of life.
The studies conducted in 2024 by architecturestudio and ENDROITS EN VERT laid the foundations for this new neighborhood: a peaceful place oriented towards conviviality and nature, where everyone can live as if at the heart of a park. This project is fully aligned with the ecological transition dynamic promoted by the municipality.
Convinced that a city is shaped by those who live in it, the municipal government has initiated an open and participatory process. A first public meeting has already taken place, followed by a thematic workshop held on May 12, thus launching an ongoing dialogue with the residents of Chesnay-Rocquencourt. Further opportunities for exchange are already planned to co-construct, together, a neighborhood true to the city’s identity and its inhabitants.
This project is led by the city of Chesnay-Rocquencourt and its mayor Richard Delepierre, along with Jérôme Le Grelle, elected official in charge of urban planning. Thanks to Romain Boursier, associate architect at architecturestudio, Sophie Roux, director of ENDROITS EN VERT, and Robin Bénévent from Res publica – Consultation firm – for their participation in this meeting.
