[Project] Architecturestudio wins the competition for the renovation and extension of the Théâtre de Clichy!
Winner of the competition, architecturestudio will lead the transformation of the Théâtre Rutebeuf, inaugurated in 1925, into a contemporary cultural hub. The project creates a dialogue between three eras: the spirit of the 1910s-30s, the industrial heritage of the 20th century, and contemporary creation.
The intervention will highlight the existing heritage — the Belle Époque façade on Allée Gambetta, the industrial structure on Rue Barbusse — while modernizing the facility. Offices for 15 people will be added, enhancing the site’s functionality.
The renovation will focus on the main Italian-style theater hall, the creation of a flexible performance space, and a multifunctional area for exhibitions or receptions. Three reception areas are planned: under the bleachers, “L’Entracte” will offer a bar area; on the first floor, the “Blue Salon” will be reborn with its Art Deco inspiration, featuring a lounge bar; and the “rooftop” will be a summer venue with stunning views over the city.
