In China, a paradigm shift is underway: after an era of overconstruction, the urgency now lies in transforming and enhancing spaces, including recently built yet already neglected ones. Each speaker emphasized the importance of renewing diagnostic approaches, whether in terms of biodiversity, intangible or cultural heritage, while rethinking public spaces as new commons—closer to plural imaginations and the diverse needs of inhabitants.
This reconsideration and transformation of existing spaces, even the most mundane, has become a priority in addressing the new challenges of inhabited environments.
This underscores the pressing need to inhabit the world differently.
