« A mosque, like any place of worship or assembly hall, must have a very strong interior appeal. As soon as you enter it, you must not tell yourself that it is merely a building that serves as a city landmark, but that there is an interiority, the interiority of cathedrals. There is something about places of worship, when you are inside you lower your voice, you can feel that you are in a domain different from than the profane sphere… » Roueïda Ayache, partner architect at Architecturestudio.
