[Project] Foundation stone laid at the Hospices Civils de Beaune
On July 10th in Beaune, Catherine Vautrin, Minister of Labour, Health, Solidarity and Families, was invited to lay the foundation stone for the new building of the Hospices Civils, designed by architecturestudio.
Romain Boursier, associate architect, presented the project, which includes the construction of a new 14,000 m² facility as well as the renovation of 300 m² of existing space, enabling the hospital to accommodate 146 beds.
A grounded hospital: opened onto the historic vineyards of the Beaune climats, the hospital is backed by a wide façade offering users calming views over this heritage landscape. To the east, the preserved main entrance hall restores a true sense of arrival from the city.
A dynamic hospital: the new inpatient and outpatient care functions are located close to the existing buildings to ensure efficient and seamless pathways for both patients and healthcare staff.
An emblematic hospital: thanks to façades composed of coloured terracotta panels, the project provides the city with a modern and attractive healthcare facility. This vibrant façade reinterprets the iconic tiled roofs of the Hospices de Beaune, echoing the legacy of the pioneers of hospital humanism.
