[News] Notre-Dame de l’Arche d’Alliance celebrated its 25th anniversary on 17th June
The Alleray district, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, saw its urbanisation radically altered in the 1970s, particularly in the vicinity of the Place Falguière.
The heterogeneous fabric blends a few Haussmannian fragments with a modern-day environment, grouping together concrete blocks, independent of each other, with an interstitial public space running between them. The building, designed to accommodate 450 devotee, a presbytery and substantial parish premises, is set on a very small plot of land, just a few steps away from the Place Falguière. Notre Dame de l’Arche d’Alliance (Our Lady of the Ark of the Covenant) translates the symbolism of the scriptural and constructive tradition into a contemporary style for this cramped site.
