[Project] The Universal Wine Museum
architecturestudio unveils a major new cultural venue with the completion of the Universal Wine Museum in Fangshan, near Beijing, entirely dedicated to the world and culture of wine.
Conceived as an emergence from the site, the building is rooted in the landscape and extends its lines, expressing an approach to construction that is both essential and contemporary. At the heart of the project, a vast courtyard surrounded by reinterpreted arcades forms a vibrant living core, encouraging encounters, movement, and the sharing of knowledge.
Inspired by French wine villages, the architecture is composed of a series of restrained volumes built in local stone. This new landmark contributes to the transmission of winemaking traditions and offers a sensory experience in which wine is discovered, observed, tasted, and learned.
Through its architecture, the museum becomes an integral part of the landscape, celebrating the art of winemaking while revealing the richness of an emerging terroir.
