Currently based in Versailles and Milon-la-Chapelle, the Foundation Anne de Gaulle intends to modernize its operations by building the first inclusive village dedicated to cognitive disabilities, the AgorHA project, in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, which will include a 100-place residential facility and one of the first medical-social living labs dedicated to the intellectually disabled in France.

In addition to hosting a unit dedicated to ageing disabled people, the Foundation is also developing inclusive housing solutions to broaden the range of accommodation available for independent people.

The ambitions of inclusion are thus expressed from the visitor’s first glimpse. The Living Lab, which acts as the gateway to the village, is a research zone where designers, engineers, industrialists, developers, designers, etc.) and users come together to improve the daily lives, citizenship and autonomy of people with intellectual disabilities. The AgorHA project proposes an inclusive architecture, which does not create stigmatizing differences for residents. The habitat will be on a domestic scale, on a human scale, far from a hospital or asyline image, and avoiding right angles. Curves will be favored, whether they concern the interior street or the houses, to participate in the therapeutic development of residents, constantly creating new perceptions of space and a soothing atmosphere. In addition, a generous street, open to the landscape, both natural and urban, allows residents and staff to wander around in a playful manner.
